The Mami Conference went well.

I'm glad we had the get-together online to discuss issues with Mami and important information moving forward.

I will be looking into nursing homes closest to me as Arlene states she'll look into resources on her end --- which I deem to be temporary.   Because eventually, something else will need to be done in order to give Arlene a rest from the every-increasing demands of Mami's daily care.

Everyone attended and everyone had excellent contribution to the conversation.

Thanks again for this.

We can meet again to discuss follow-up, new plans or just to stay in touch (just for fun).

Just let me know when.

All you need is an Email and a browser (also on your cell phone).

Here's the link to the online program I used:

PS ... Please keep Claudia's mom in prayer as she's been having medical issues  on and off also and as I write this, Claudia is driving alone to Queens to try and get her to be seen at a few out-patient clinics after her mom experienced a sudden blurred vision in one of her eyes, nausea and much fatigue.

We think it could have been a mini stroke.

No time is a good time to have medical issues but these times, are even worse.

OXOXO

The craziness of "distance learning"...

If I had hair, I'd be pulling it out.

The kids' schedules are in chaos, their learning is in chaos, their discipline is in chaos, ... All of this has had such a toll on us - especially Christopher, the oldest. Christopher needs a structured routine and without it, he's all over the place.  While I'm no fan of public school, there's always going to be more structure at school than what is provided to him through a small laptop computer at home.  And getting out of the house also adds to the benefit.

On the 19th of Jan (the day before my Bday), I got to see Mami.  She looked great.  We had some time to talk and laugh as usual, and under her faded memory, she's still the same Mami.  Seeing Mami was the highlight of my 53'rd Bday.  :)

Claudia took me to an awesome Mexican restaurant for my Bday and the kids made these fancy Bday cards.

Summer Time (living room couch rendition)

I wanted to post something new and then realized I hadn't messed w/ my Hohner for a pretty long time since we moved back up to the house, and my fingers are so numb.  So i'll just leave this here until I post some new ideas.

It's Father's Day 2020...

I'm grateful for so much.  My home, marriage, children and health... but my Mother-in-law has been diagnosed with Covid19 w/in the last 48 hours, and we're carefully monitoring her condition.  We pray to God she won't develop symptoms that would have her have to go to the hospital.

We're living in volatile times indeed.  Our nation is going through some serious changes but nothing God is not in control of.

Therefore, I can move on to other things in faith.

One of the important things we're looking into is the children's education.  I think of nothing more than to give the kids the best and more concise, and practical education possible.   The Covid thing bumped us into "distance learning" w/in their public school curriculum.   But I know they would benefit a lot more w/ in an online home schooling program.

As soon as they're done w/ their 2020 school program, we're going to do a Christian online program known as Monarch for 1 month free trail.  Hopefully, we can transition into a better and more concise learning curriculum for the kids moving forward.

Update:  So we tried this program along w/ a few others and could never settle down on any of these b/c the curriculum was never a perfect fit for the kids, especial CJ who had a rocky start in his speech and trouble catching up from 1rst to 2nd grade.  And now b/c of the Covid thing, both kids aren't getting the best school and academic experience that would be appropriate for them.  So, they're back in Public school.

Life is so negative, I'm going to go ultra-positive!

Nothing like a little rebellion to get you goin' ay?
Just like my Mami would recommend.

When life nudges you, you push the heck back!
:)    My Mami taught me that.  And it's true.  Kinda like that movie, The Shawshank Redemption, "You gets to livin' or gets to dyin'.".....    What's it gonna be??

I personally think, as long as you've got truth on your side, you're not putting it all in for naught.  The Bible states,

"There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death." - Proverbs 14:12
